Ultimate Reset Results

So I know that I have stunk at keeping up with the blog during the Reset.  The last two weeks were the hardest.  I was pretty foggy when we switched to the Vegan eating plan.  It took me a little while to figure out that I wasn't getting enough protein for my body.

The major thing that we both discovered was that in our non-Reset lives that our portion sizes were out of control!!!  We are not going the full vegetarian/vegan route, but we will be eating cleaner with smaller portion sizes.

Now for my results!  I lost 10 pounds, over 6% of total body weight and 12+ inches!!!!  So excited!!!

Now on to Beachbody's Brazilian Butt Lift program to hopefully slim down my chunky thighs and muffin tops!

Catching up (again...)

Going to be totally honest, right now I feel like quitting the Reset!  I am so lethargic and grumpy that I can't take myself let alone let anyone else put up with me.

I am amazed at the results that I have gotten during the program, but really right now all I want is to feel full and to have some protein in my diet.

Hoping to get caught up on the dates tomorrow, it won't be tonight because I have to go shopping for more food to wrap up the week.

Sorry to be so down and out, but feeling blue right now...

Blessings,
Erin

Ultimate Reset - Day 8

I woke up really late this morning like at 6:30 and needed to be out the door by 7:15.  Under normal circumstances that would be fine, but not on a Reset morning!  Needless to say, it was not the calmest morning!

Today is the first day of the Release phase and that means the detox powder....That was the part that I have been dreading the most.  After some advise from others that have gone through this phase I came up with a game plan.  So I grabbed the mineralized water from the fridge, poured about 8 oz of water in a shaker cup, threw in the detox powder and shook the crap out of it.  Grabbed a lemon and cut up a slice.  Let the detox set up for a minute and shook it again.  Then took a deep breath and chugged it, followed up with a lemon shot and my normal mineralized and oxygenized water and two capsules of optimize.  Really wasn't too bad that way.  Here is a picture of the detox powder (yes, I know it looks like pond water!)

Breakfast, as it will be from here on out, was fruit.  I threw about a cup of grapes, Bing cherries and cantaloupe.  It was really filling, was surprised!

About 30 minutes before lunch it was time for the normal routine with detox added.  I didn't bring any lemon with me, so I had to take the detox without it and I can make it without it!  So that is good!

Can you guess what lunch was????? Yuup, another salad....I really wasn't joking a couple of day ago when I  was turning into a rabbit

By 2:00 I noticed that my hip joints were starting to ache.  So I kept drinking out of my gallon of water and ended up finishing it at work.  Thankful that the mineralize is in the water so my sodium levels will stay consistent and I won't "over-water" myself!

Thirty minutes before dinner it is the routine of a large glass of water with a few drops of oxygenize and the optimize pills, with the bonus round of detox!

Dinner was Pinto Beans and Rice with some steamed lemony green beans! It was yummy!!!

Week 1 Results!

So the results are in for the first 7 days!

My weight has gone down 5 pounds and I have lost a total of 7 inches!!!!

I have mentioned Leon (my belly) and he has finally shrunk!!! I lost an inch and a half from my waist in 1 week!!

Besides the physical changes, I am feeling much more energetic. I am sleeping more soundly and am getting the quality rest that I need.

I am also able to taste and smell more things! It is amazing how much your senses are heightened during this time period!

Until next time!

Blessings!
Erin :)

Ultimate Reset - Day 7

This was the final day of week 1!  Feeling great and energized! I will post results in a separate post, hopefully this evening.

Breakfast was some oatmeal, with chopped apples and ground cinnamon, and some yogurt sweetened with maple syrup. Lunch was another microgreen salad and another serving of the yummy zucchini-cashew soup!

Dinner....well, hmmmm......I wanted to like it, but didn't.  It was baked tempeh with brown rice and steamed veggies.  We just couldn't handle the tempeh.  I don't know if it was because it was left over from day 3 or we don't like the flavoring.  I think that it was a mix of the two.  The both of us just ended up eating the veggies and rice.

Ultimate Reset - Day 6

I will put this out there, I am not a savory breakfast girl.  I like things sweet!  So when I saw what was on the schedule for today's breakfast, I said nooooo way!  I am sure that it would be fine, just not for me!

The original breakfast was supposed to be whole grain toast (fine), a sliver of avocado (ok), half a cup of steamed spinach or kale (pushing my boundary) and baked tempeh (gagh!!!).  But the beauty of this eating plan is that if you don't like something, you can substitute out what you don't like for a meal that you do in the same week.  So, instead we had a repeat of a bowl of fruit and a piece of toast with nut butter on it.  Yummy & so much better than tempeh in the morning!

For lunch we had (you guessed it!) another microgreen salad.  Don't get me wrong, I love salads but I am feeling a bit like a bunny!  Hoping I don't turn into a head of lettuce by the end of the Reset. :)

Now that I was back to work it was easier for me to drink the quantity of water that I needed to drink, and evidently I was not doing so hot at home!  I ended up drinking a gallon of water during my 9 hours at work!  Feeling much better this morning!

I resisted a huge temptation too this morning.  Walked into the office and there it sits.....a cookie!  My weakness is anything cookie or cake-like!  Normally I would just wolf that puppy down without a blink, but I am on the Reset and cookies aren't in the program.  Dang It!!!!  So after some convincing, I got one of my coworkers to eat the darn thing so it would no longer be a temptation!  Thankfully, I am the only female in the office, so it really wasn't a challenge to get one of the guys to eat the cookie....

Dinner was so yummy!  We had the roasted root medley which has oven roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, beets and onions.  It was divine.  I saw on the Facebook support group that people have been using the coconut oil instead of the olive oil; amazing tip!  It added a hint of coconut flavor and brought out the sweetness of the veggies!  Also on the menu was zucchini-cashew soup.  Sounds bizarre but it is totally delicious!  The grain that went with the meal was millet.  I have never had this before; it has a crunchy texture and tastes nutty.  It was ok, but I like the quinoa better.

After dinner and making more soup for lunch on day 7, the hubby & I went for a walk around Dawes Arboretum with our black lab Emma.  One thing that I am beginning to notice is that the Reset is allowing my senses to become heightened.  Walking through Dawes, I was amazed at how beautiful the pine trees smelled on this walk.  Another awesome benefit to the Ultimate Reset!

Until Next Time!

Blessings,
Erin :)

Ultimate Reset - Day 3, 4 and 5

Playing catch-up here.  On day 3, Friday, it was a hard day.  I woke up with a mild headache, that got worse all morning, and the rest of my body felt like it got hit by a Mack truck.  I tried to go into work, got dressed, showered and after eating a scrambled egg sandwich I promptly curled up on the couch and called off of work.  My dear hubby shooed me off to bed and then woke me up for lunch a bit later.  Lunch was another microgreen salad followed by a yummy snack of a green apple with peanut butter.  Never knew that out of season apples could taste that good!  It was like candy!!!  Then I had the nastiest dinner I have ever had -- Nori Rolls.  The picture below explains it all:

My recommendation - find a vegetarian roll at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.  Got to be better than the stuff I had that night.  Or just don't bother with the seaweed and eat the filling, that was at least edible...

Day 4, Saturday, was a ton better!  Woke up with some energy and no headache!  Breakfast was some fruit and whole-grain toast with peanut butter. But the highlight of the day, was our 90 minute massage.  Ahhh....that was heavenly!  Thanks Val!!!!  We were running late for lunch, due to the massage, so we ended up skipping lunch (bad I know) and just taking the supplements and eating a snack.  Dinner today was so much better!!!  Stir-Fried veggies, cucumber and tomato salad and quinoa.

Day 5, Sunday, breakfast started off with a bang.  Yummy oatmeal, sweetened with maple syrup, walnuts and blueberries.  Lunch was a veggie plate with hummus and quinoa salad.  A lot of chewing, but it was good.  Dinner was another round of stir-fried veggies.

Well back to work!

Blessings,
Erin :)

Running Behind....

Between the detox catching up with me and our computer being stupid, I am a bit behind on my daily posts.  Hope to have them up by later today!

Blessings!
Erin :)

Ultimate Reset - Day 2

I am starting to feel the effects of the detoxing process.  When I woke up this morning, I felt achy.  But that is ok.  Fatigue is starting in and I just wanted to take a nap by 3:00 in the afternoon.

Breakfast was ok.  We had oatmeal with blueberries and yogurt sweetened with maple syrup.  I just like my oatmeal with a bit of brown sugar, but that was not to be this morning.  But on the bright side, the blueberries and yogurt were delish!

We had a staff retreat today too, so that offered some challenges!  We ended up going to a diner as a staff for breakfast.  Oh I wanted nothing more than to dig into some bacon, eggs and hash browns and chase it down with some coffee, but I settled for a mug of hot tea instead.  It took major willpower though!!!

So for our retreat we went on a boat tour of Buckeye Lake and got to see Cranberry Bog.  This bog is so unique.  It is the only one of its kind.  It is essentially a 30 foot mat of sphagnum moss that floated to the surface of Buckeye Lake when they flooded the lake for the Erie Canal system.  This mat just floats and is not connected to any land mass.  And it is home to actual cranberry plants.  The bog has undergone some years of neglect, but the Buckeye Lake Historical Society is doing their best to preserve this local treasure.  Something to check out if you are in the area!

After the bog, we cruised around the lake and had lunch on the water.  Once again, there was temptations! While my co-workers were chowing down on turkey wraps and cranberry cookies, I was eating a yummy Chicken Greek Salad with Pine Nuts.  Learned that it can be quite difficult to eat a salad with a fork that keeps collapsing on you when you are in a wake zone. LOL!

After I took my Alkalinize (aka the green stuff), I developed a bit of a headache and it just kept getting worse.  But I was planning on taking a delightful Epsom salt bath after dinner anyway so that helped out!

Dinner consisted of black beans pinto beans (thought I had black beans, oops!), brown rice, caramelized corn, salsa, guacamole, a corn tortilla and some steamed kale with pine nuts.  So darn yummy!!!!

Until Next Time,

Blessings!
Erin :)

Ultimate Reset - Day 1

We got off to a wonderful start!!!

Got up and drank a glass of water that has the Mineralize in it. Put the Oxygenize directly into the water and downed the 2 Optimize capsules.

Breakfast was 2 scrambled eggs with steamed spinach between 2 pieces of whole grain toast.  It was soooo yummy!!! (Sorry for the fuzzy picture, flash wasn't on and it was early!)

About 30 minutes prior to eating lunch I repeated the Mineralize, Oxygenize, Optimize routine.

At lunch it was a delish microgreen salad with homemade dressing.  So yummy!!!

At around 2 it was time for the moment I had been dreading - Alkinlinize!!!  I have heard so many horror stories about taking this supplement, but it honestly was not that bad. I was pleasantly surprised!

Snack was a cup of shelled edamame.  I have never really eaten it prior and I am in love!  It is nutty tasting and a tiny bit sweet.  Will definitively be in the permanent snack rotation after the Reset.

When I got home, I knew that the salmon for dinner would need to marinate for an hour.  So I whipped up the marinade and took a nap while the fish was getting happy in the fridge.... :)

Again 30 minutes before eating, did the Mineralize, Oxygenize, Optimize routine.  And then it was time for lovely dinner.  Totally a recipe that will be made again!

Until Tomorrow!

Blessings!!

Today is the Day!!!

Well it has FINALLY begun!  Day 1 is on it's way and feeling good so far!

Last night was interesting shopping for 2 people on the Beachbody Ultimate Reset meal plan.  I have never spent so much time in the fresh produce section!!!  It was amazing to look at all of the fresh produce that you normally just pass up, I had to stop some ladies passing by to ask if the leafy green thing that was in my hand was kale.  LOL!

I will update you tomorrow on how Day 1 goes, complete with food pictures.  Just a warning: I am not the prettiest food maker, but it always seems to taste good!  So don't 100% base your opinion of the food plan on my plating skills (or lack there of) :)

Until Tomorrow!

Blessings!

Change of plans :-(

We live in Ohio and were affected by that crazy storm last Friday. Well the short story is that since we were out of power from Friday evening until Tuesday afternoon.

So there was two changes of plans. The first one was that I didn't end up running in the Firecracker 5 mile race on the 4th. I was exhausted from the lack of sleep and the heat that we encountered when the power was out. That and is so bloody hot the morning of the race.

The second change of plans is our start date for the Beachbody Ultimate Reset. Our bodies are still recovering from the power outage so we will starting next Wednesday July 11th.

Blessings!!

One Week Until Reset!!!

I am getting so excited to be this close to starting the Beachbody Ultimate Reset Program!  I am looking forward to the changes my body will experience while it is cleaning itself out.

My poor body has been telling me that it wants to do this.  Since I last posted, I have been plagued with sinus and migraine headaches, stomach issues, asthma issues...the works.  My massage therapist even felt it when I went in for a massage last Friday.  My back was a knotty wreck!

Looking forward to sharing the process with you!

Blessings!

Training at 5 am

I know that I will feel better and more energized after a run, but that concept is extremely hard to grasp when your alarm clock is blaring country music at 4:05 in the morning.  For me, it doesn't matter how early I go to bed my body simply rejects the concept of being awake that early in the morning!  It seems like my body and our bed has become undeniably attracted to each other, my term for it is Velcro bed.

So from the first time the alarm started to play Carrie Underwood and 4:50, my hand became essentially glued to the snooze button.  I finally peeled my self away from my pillow, sheets and that oh so comfy presence of hubby on the other side of the bed to go for a sleepy run.

There is most likely nothing more comical than watching me stumble around the house (typically before my contacts are in) trying to find my running gear.  When I finally found my socks it was time to stumble downstairs and find my Bobble water bottle and switch on the Keurig for my after-run coffee fix.  Found my running arm band and the hunt was on for my headphones.  After Callie (our chatty little feline) helped me untangle the knots in my headphones, it was out the door with both my inhaler and a bottle of water (amazing that I can remember that at 5 in the morning, but not at 9 for a race!).

Once I got moving I felt great!  It was the perfect temp for a morning run, only 54 degrees!  I was able to get  almost 2 miles in before my calves decided that they were going to play a game and tense up on me.

This morning was truly the embodiment of the old phase "The body is willing, but the mind is weak."  I could have kept hitting the snooze, or reset the alarm to go off at a later time.  I could have rolled over and cuddled with hubby (always a temptation on a work day!).  When I couldn't find my running gear in the dresser I could have said, forget it and sit in front of the t.v. and watch the "news" or a show on the DVR.

It is amazing how many opportunities we have to give ourselves excuses not to exercise and we all know them!  The picture below is so true!

Ultimate Reset Supplements - Revitalize

Revitalize is the supplement that you will take during the final week of your Reset.  This supplement will help reintroduce good bacteria into the digestive tract.  The good bacteria will help your newly scrubbed tract break down carbs, promote a healthy immune system and control the growth of bad bacteria.

Ultimate Reset Supplements - Detox

Ahhh...the beloved detox!  When this word is used in connection with the word colon, all sorts of images come to mind.  Taking the pill / powder and within 5 minutes a trip to the bathroom is urgently needed.  Take a book, paper or movie with you because you are going to be there all day!

With the 21 day Ultimate Reset, you can take your Detox and still have a life outside of the bathroom!  Beachbody has designed this formula to be gentle!  The focus was on striking a balance between getting the toxins removed from the digestive tract without causing your system to "release" violently. This supplement will only be taken during the 2nd week of the program.

Now that all of that is out of the way, what does your digestive tract actually do?  Aside from the obvious waste removal application, our colon does a lot for our body!  Here is a short list of what this part of our anatomy does:
  • influences hydration
  • influences nutrient absorption
  • influences our immune system functions
  • extracts water, potassium and fat soluble vitamins from solid waste

Ultimate Reset Supplement - Oxygenize

We all know how crucial oxygen is to life on this wonderful planet.  Without oxygen, we would not be able to exist.  Oxygen helps us produce energy for our bodies, assists in eliminating waste from tissues and transporting nutrients into our very cells.

Oxygen levels have gone down in the atmosphere depleting our bodies of this needed element of nature.  Our bodies have been designed to require a specified amount that they are no longer able to completely fulfill.

This is where Oxygenize comes in!  This supplement is liquid oxygen that you add to your distilled water, or place directly on your tongue, three times a day during the 21 day Ultimate Reset.  This pH balanced formula will assist your body to receive the oxygen it desires to help restore your body to factory settings.

Ultimate Reset Supplements - Optimize

Optimize is another supplement that you will be taking during all 21 days of the Reset.  The purpose of this supplement is to increase the enzyme levels our bodies.  Our enzyme levels will naturally decrease as we age.  When this decrease is combined with our poor diet, illnesses and injury, it can be very easy to find our bodies in state of chronic enzyme deficiency.  This state negatively affects our natural body processes, including how we absorb and digest nutrients from food.

When your enzyme levels are increased your immune system can go to optimal levels, your bodies inflammation response is managed.

Another way to raise these enzyme levels naturally is to eat unprocessed and raw foods.  By eating raw fruits and vegetables, you can increase your enzymes prior to the Ultimate Reset.

Insanity....

This is so very true!!!!  It took me 2 weeks to make it through the warm-up without stopping!!!

Ultimate Reset Supplements - Mineralize

The next supplement you will be using on a daily basis during the Beach Body Ultimate Reset is Mineralize.  This supplement should be used 3 times a day, sprinkled in your distilled water, and can also be used for seasoning your food.

Mineralize contains pure crystal salt that is minimally processed and contains up to 84 natural minerals and elements.  These natural substances promote a stable pH balance, regulate water content in your body, help support cellular function, prevent muscle cramping and aids in digestion.

The salt contained in the Mineralize supplement is far different from table salt, that has had a majority of the nutrients removed during processing.  Sea salt is becoming more tainted due to increasing sea pollution.

Stop Beating Yourself Up Over Not Being Perfect...

I was just browsing through the Fitness section on Pinterest and this thought occurred to me.

Why are we so hard on ourselves (myself included) when we don't look like the bikini women we see on T.V.?

I saw tons of "thinspiration" pictures on Pinterest.  Women who have obviously have worked for their 6 pack abs and their tight little tushies, but how many of us will get discouraged when we don't reach that goal in 2 months?

I know that I didn't become overweight overnight.  I know that my belly pudge (who my hubs and I have affectionately named Leon) didn't grow in a day.

So why do I beat myself up when Leon doesn't disappear in a day?  Why do I want to hit the chocolate chip cookies and pizza to console myself because the scale didn't move since yesterday morning?

If you are on this weight loss / fitness journey like I am, we just need to STOP!!!

Stop being our own worst critic!

Stop allowing Hollywood and the magazines to dictate our self worth!

Stop feeling that since we didn't drop the 12 pounds like the contestant on The Biggest Loser we are a failure!

Stop feeling like we are worthless because our abs aren't a 6 pack!

We just need to allow ourselves to grow, to allow ourselves the best that we can be at this point in our lives.

We need to stop setting unrealistic goals for ourselves.  Yes it would be amazing to drop that extra 40 pounds in a month, but be realistic!  That type of weight loss could take months!!!

We take baby steps in transforming our financial situations, why don't we give our bodies the same grace in taking off the weight?  Why do we expect that we can run a half-marathon when we can barely run a mile?

Please extend to yourself some grace and understanding!  I know that I need too!

Blessings!
Erin

Ultimate Reset Supplement - Alkalinize

This supplement assists in bringing your body chemistry back into a healthy pH balance (pH between 7.35 and 7.45).

When your body falls below a 7.0 pH level it is considered to be acidic.  When you are at this level, your body can become more vulnerable to viruses, congestion, inflammation, disease and bacteria.

Alkalinize comes in single serve packets that you will take daily throughout the 21 days.  It dissolves in 3 to 6 oz of water.

The Spirit of Sportsmanship

I am so proud of my state of Ohio for this single act of compassion.

During the high school state championship race for the 3,200 meter final West Liberty-Salem High junior Meghan Vogel came across her competitor Arden McMath, a sophomore from Arlington High School.  Arden was beginning to struggle significantly and was stumbling around the track.

Instead of passing her competitor, Meghan threw her arms around Arden and carried her to the finish line.  Not only did Meghan assist her in completing the race, she took this act one step further by ensuring that Arden would finish before her.

There is a lesson to be learned here for all of us, athletes and non-athletes alike.  We have been placed on this earth to bless others, to put others needs and desires above our own.

I will never get political on this blog, but could you imagine our country if the political environment would embrace this philosophy?

I hope that I can someday be an encouragement to another like Meghan was to Arden.

Blessings!

Why The BeachBody Ultimate Rest?

As humans we have made technological advances to make our days more efficient, but many times this efficiency comes at a cost.  Now don't get me wrong,  I love my car that allows me to get from point A to point B (mainly from work to home and then back again), but our cars are dumping pollution into the air we breathe everyday.  Industrialization has for many years discharged pollution into our ground water affecting the drinking supply and our food supply.

Our bodies have been perfectly and wonderfully made.  We have filtration systems in our anatomy that allows us to clean up the messes we take in on a daily basis, but like our cars sometimes our bodies need to get the gunk cleaned out.

That is what the BeachBody Ultimate Reset is designed to do.  The program is for 21 days, 3 weeks, that will help your body get back to the job that it was designed to do.

  • Utilize the foods that come into our bodies and extract all of the healthy stuff and put it to good use, not pack it on as excess weight
  • Fight off sickness and infections that we come into contact with
  • Gain energy and a new focus
The Reset is designed in three phases and I will be covering these this week along with the supplements that will assist your body in getting rid of the gunk.

Until Next Time!

Running a 5K

Saturday marked my first 5K race ever!  I will admit that I am a bit strange....my very first race that I did was a half-marathon in October 2011.

I went into the race thinking that this would be easier than the half-marathons that I have done.  Then the race organizer described the race course as having "gentle, rolling hills".  Here is a tip, if you ever hear an organizer describe a course like that, get on your big girl panties because it is going to be a bumpy ride!  Needless to say, I need to work on running more hills!!!

The more I run, the more I realize that my asthma likes to play tricks on me.  The weather for the morning of the run was "no excuses weather", meaning perfect conditions.  It was 53, a bit breezy and sunny.  I should have been able to run it without any issues.

Then my ornery asthma decided to play a trick....I hadn't even gotten to the 1 mile mark and I feel it.  That dry, tight, burning feeling in my lungs.  Take a hit off my rescue inhaler, which I actually remembered for this race unlike my two half marathons, and I begins to work.

What I forgot for this race was a crucial element, water!  My hubby & I have come to the conclusion that even if I am going to get out and run 1 mile, I need to run with water.  So if you have asthma and find that you can do aerobic exercise indoors but can't even make it 1 mile without hitting your inhaler, try running with a bottle of water and see if it makes a difference.  I know it does for me!

Needless to say, I didn't do so hot on my 5K race.  I know that I can run 10:15 minute miles, but on this journey I ended up doing 12:53 minute miles for a total finish time of 40:02.  As is my philosophy in these races, I am proud I finished and that I had the courage not only to start, but to finish and not stop!

Beachbody Ultimate Reset is Here!!

Well we got our boxes in the mail yesterday (will post pictures soon)!  I am so excited to start this resetting process, but it won't begin until July.

Why?

I am going to be running in the Firecracker Five race in Granville, Ohio on Independence Day.  This is the oldest footrace in Ohio and is a 5 mile race and I have promised my husband that I will run it this year.

Beachbody recommends that you begin this process at a point when your schedule is "calm" and as stress-less as possible.  Also as part of this reset program you are to refrain from strenuous exercise.  The recommended exercise program during the 21 day reset is light stretching and 2-20 minute walks a day.

The idea behind this is that your body will be working overtime to eliminate the toxins from itself and asking it to rebuild your muscles during these 21 days will push your body even harder.

While I desperately want to being this process now, I will wait and begin to wean my body away from the addictive substances I am putting in my body currently. I am going to accomplish that by:

  • Limiting my caffeine intake - bye bye coffee you will be missed :-(
  • Reducing the amount of refined sugars I consume
  • Change my snacking habits to consume whole foods, not processed chips, cookies, etc.
Other "addictive" behaviors that you may want to reduce if you are planning on doing this program are:
  • Limiting your alcohol consumption
  • Cutting out tobacco use
I should put this out there...I am not a Beachbody Coach.  I am just a wife who wants to improve her health and wants to help you on your weight loss journey!

Blessings!

Running Shoe Conundrum....

One thing that you need to know about me is that I am cheap, I am an accountant by trade it that tells you anything!!!!  So for me to buy myself new running shoes takes an act of God!!!

My Nike's are my newest pair.  They have so much cushion and give me the support I need, but they also give me something else...BLISTERS!!!  Definitively not a girl's best friend!  After my half marathon in early May 2012, I took of my shoes to find a total of 4 friction blisters and 2 blood blisters underneath my toenails.  This is with a $10 pair of Smart Wool running socks too!  Those shoes are so lucky to even be alive!!!!  Then there are my Mizuno's.  They make my Achelles tendon hurt, my plantar fasciitis flare up, but no blisters.

So what to do?  Go with the Nike's knowing the chances are good that I will get blisters (even on a 2 mile run!) or my Mizuno's knowing that my feet and ankles will be wrecked....

I know....get a new pair of shoes.....did I mention that I was cheap?

Proud of myself!

Last night I must have gotten a burst of energy after work!  After dinner instead of becoming a couch bum I began cleaning....For any of you who know me, know that this is a HUGE accomplishment in and of itself!  I try to avoid cleaning the house like the plague!

So I decided to clean up the kitchen; clean, sweep and steam mop the bathroom (the worst part of cleaning in my opinion!); sweep the entire upstairs and steam mop it; vacuum and steam mop the stairs and do a load of socks!

After that I figured I was already sweaty and nasty, so why not go for a short run?  So proud to say that I was able to run 1 mile without stopping (or my asthma deciding it would play tricks on me)!  Now it wasn't record breaking time, 10:40 min/mile, but it is an accomplishment!!!!

Beginnings....

Beginning my weight-loss journey has been so difficult!  I have started and stopped too many times to count.

At my wedding in 2008, I weighed 120 lbs.  Now, less than 4 years later I have gone up to 160 lbs, way too heavy for my 5'1" frame!

I have tried to lose weight, believe me I have tried!  I have completed the 1st cycle of Beachbody's Insanity program and didn't lose a pound!!!  Talk about discouragement!!!

I have run/walked 2 half marathons and the weight will not budge.

I have ordered the Beachbody Ultimate Reset program and am hoping that this detox program will allow my body to lose the weight.

Honestly, I don't expect anyone to read this blog, but if you do I hope it will help you in your struggles with weight loss.
